MGM Grand

MGM Grand anchors the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue with one of the largest hotels in the world by room count, plus arenas and theatres that draw people who never stay there.

The bronze lion statue at the Strip entrance, MGM Grand Garden Arena and large-scale resident shows.

MGM Grand opened in 1993 with an Emerald City theme tied to The Wizard of Oz, including a themed park behind the hotel. The theme was steadily removed through the late 1990s in favour of an entertainment-and-arena focus that still defines the property.
