THE LAS VEGAS STRIP GUIDE
The Strip is about four miles long and the resorts are far larger than they look on a map. Splitting it into three areas makes planning far easier.
SOUTH STRIP
From Mandalay Bay north to the Tropicana intersection and the Park district. Blocks are long, but the free tram between Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Excalibur removes the hardest stretch.

WALKING, TRANSPORT & RIDESHARE
- Use the free South Strip tram instead of walking Mandalay Bay to Excalibur.
- Cross only at pedestrian bridges at Tropicana Avenue.
- Arena event nights crowd the sidewalks around The Park.
CENTER STRIP
The densest and most walkable stretch: Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Paris, Planet Hollywood, The Cosmopolitan, ARIA, Flamingo, The LINQ and the Venetian. Most of the Strip's free attractions sit here.

WALKING, TRANSPORT & RIDESHARE
- Bellagio to Caesars Palace is a genuinely short walk via the pedestrian bridges.
- Cut through casinos and malls in summer — indoor routes are air-conditioned.
- Walking times look shorter on a map than they feel; resorts are enormous.
NORTH STRIP
Wynn, Encore, Resorts World and Fontainebleau, plus the convention corridor. Distances between properties grow quickly here, so transport matters more than on the Center Strip.

WALKING, TRANSPORT & RIDESHARE
- Rideshare pickup points are usually in parking structures, not at the front door.
- The Deuce bus runs the length of the Strip day and night.
- Allow far more walking time than the map suggests.
GETTING AROUND
- The Deuce bus runs the length of the Strip and into downtown, day and night.
- Free trams link Mandalay Bay-Luxor-Excalibur, and Bellagio-Vdara-ARIA-Park MGM.
- The Las Vegas Monorail runs behind the resorts on the east side of the Strip (ticketed).
- Rideshare pickup is usually in a parking structure or a marked zone, not the main entrance — follow the app's pin carefully.
- Summer afternoons are extremely hot; indoor routes through casinos and malls are cooler and often faster.
