THE STORY BEHIND THE HOTEL
Wynn Las Vegas opened in 2005 on the site of the Desert Inn, which Steve Wynn bought and closed. It marked a deliberate shift away from theming: no volcano, no pyramid, just a curved bronze tower and interiors designed to feel residential and calm.

Wynn and Encore both fill their entrance atriums with large-scale floral and sculptural pieces, including carousel and balloon-style figures built from fresh flowers. They are changed periodically through the year, they sit in public walkways, and there is no charge to walk through or photograph them.
The Wynn Esplanade
A tree-lined indoor promenade of luxury boutiques running between the casino and Encore. Walking it, and the marble and mosaic detailing along the way, costs nothing — only what you buy inside is a paid experience.
Lake of Dreams views
The water and light feature sits behind the casino, facing the resort's bars and restaurants rather than the Strip. Some public vantage points along the walkway allow a look; the best views are from venues where you would be buying food or drinks.
